As a company founder and the principal of engineering and land surveying services, Mark has more than 26 years of experience in both the private and public sector and has considerable experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) / Inspection services and has specialized in Geotechnical engineering. He oversees many aspects of TERRA’s services and shares responsibilities for business development, strategic partnerships, back office operations, and community outreach.
Mark’s international and local experience in both the private and public sector gives him a unique and valuable perspective of civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering as well as surveying and construction materials testing and inspection consulting services. Early in his career and during his tenure with a large international engineering consulting firm he was made a construction site engineer managing a wide range of rural development construction projects in Africa. One of these projects involved a large plant hire road construction project which entailed managing and building several roads for a total of approximately 24 km of new road construction and included several stream culvert structures in a very rural part of Africa on the Mozambique border. This experience was invaluable as it allowed him to experience engineering design, surveying, construction materials testing and managing construction projects in the field.
Mark made his dream of owning his own engineering consulting firm a reality when he co-founded TERRA in 2008. He is dedicated to the organization and believes in providing a flexible environment with a family first mentality. Mark strives to provide the kind of service that he would want to receive as a client and is building a long-term employee owned company legacy.
